GardenAlerts — Privacybeleid

GardenAlerts is een iOS-app voor het bijhouden van tuinplanten binnen het gezin. Om de app goed te laten werken worden een aantal gegevens opgeslagen. In dit beleid leggen wij uit welke gegevens dat zijn, hoe wij ze gebruiken en hoe wij ze beveiligen.

Welke gegevens verzamelen wij?

E-mailadres — gebruikt voor het aanmaken van een account en inloggen via Firebase Authentication.
Foto's van planten en tuinen — foto's die u maakt met de camera of kiest uit uw fotobibliotheek worden opgeslagen in Firebase Storage en gekoppeld aan uw tuin of plant.
GPS-locatie — eenmalig opgevraagd bij het instellen van een tuinlocatie. De locatie wordt omgezet naar een plaatsnaam via reverse geocoding; de coördinaten worden opgeslagen in Firestore voor toekomstig gebruik (bijv. weersadviezen). De app vraagt locatietoegang alleen wanneer u actief op de locatieknop drukt.
Agendatoegang — wanneer u zorgtaken exporteert naar Apple Kalender, maakt de app een aparte agenda aan met de naam "GardenAlerts". Hiervoor wordt eenmalig toestemming gevraagd.
Push-notificatietoken (FCM) — een apparaattoken dat door Firebase Cloud Messaging wordt gegenereerd en in Firestore wordt opgeslagen. Dit token wordt gebruikt om zorgtaakherinneringen te sturen. U kunt notificaties op elk moment uitschakelen in de app-instellingen.
App-gegevens — tuinen (naam, locatie, foto), planten (naam, soort, zorginfo, foto's) en zorgtaken (datum, type, status) worden opgeslagen in Cloud Firestore.

Hoe gebruiken wij uw gegevens?

Exporteren van zorgtaken naar uw apparaatkalender of als iCal-bestand

Uw gegevens worden uitsluitend gebruikt voor de werking van de app. Er vindt geen profilering, advertentietargeting of geautomatiseerde besluitvorming plaats.

Gegevensopslag en beveiliging

Alle gegevens worden opgeslagen in Firebase (Google Cloud Platform), beveiligd via Firebase Security Rules. Alleen ingelogde gebruikers met de juiste rechten kunnen data lezen of schrijven.
Foto's worden opgeslagen in Firebase Storage en zijn alleen toegankelijk binnen de geauthenticeerde app.
Gegevens worden niet verkocht, verhuurd of gedeeld met derden, met uitzondering van Google Firebase als verwerker (zie Firebase Privacy).
De app maakt gebruik van versleutelde verbindingen (HTTPS) voor alle communicatie met de backend.

Rechten van gebruikers

Inzage en verwijdering — u kunt via de app uw tuinen, planten en zorgtaken verwijderen. Voor volledige verwijdering van uw account en bijbehorende gegevens kunt u contact opnemen via het onderstaande e-mailadres.
Notificaties — push-notificaties kunnen per type (bewateren, bemesten, snoeien, seizoenstaken) worden aan- of uitgezet in de app-instellingen.
Locatietoegang — locatietoestemming kan worden ingetrokken via de iOS-instellingen onder Privacy & Beveiliging → Locatievoorzieningen.
Agendatoegang — toegang tot de agenda kan worden ingetrokken via de iOS-instellingen onder Privacy & Beveiliging → Agenda.

GardenAlerts is an iOS app for keeping track of garden plants within the family. To make the app work properly, some data is stored. In this policy we explain which data that is, how we use it and how we secure it.

What data do we collect?

E-mail address — used to create an account and sign in via Firebase Authentication.
Photos of plants and gardens — photos you take with the camera or choose from your photo library are stored in Firebase Storage and linked to your garden or plant.
GPS location — requested once when setting up a garden location. The location is converted to a place name via reverse geocoding; the coordinates are stored in Firestore for future use (e.g. weather advice). The app only requests location access when you actively press the location button.
Calendar access — when you export care tasks to Apple Calendar, the app creates a separate calendar named "GardenAlerts". Permission is requested once for this.
Push notification token (FCM) — a device token generated by Firebase Cloud Messaging and stored in Firestore. This token is used to send care-task reminders. You can turn off notifications at any time in the app settings.
App data — gardens (name, location, photo), plants (name, type, care info, photos) and care tasks (date, type, status) are stored in Cloud Firestore.

How do we use your data?

Exporting care tasks to your device calendar or as an iCal file

Your data is used solely for the operation of the app. No profiling, advertising targeting or automated decision-making takes place.

Data storage and security

All data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud Platform), secured via Firebase Security Rules. Only signed-in users with the right permissions can read or write data.
Photos are stored in Firebase Storage and are only accessible within the authenticated app.
Data is not sold, rented or shared with third parties, with the exception of Google Firebase as processor (see Firebase Privacy).
The app uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all communication with the backend.

User rights

Access and deletion — you can delete your gardens, plants and care tasks via the app. For full deletion of your account and associated data, please contact us via the e-mail address below.
Notifications — push notifications can be turned on or off per type (watering, feeding, pruning, seasonal tasks) in the app settings.
Location access — location permission can be revoked via the iOS settings under Privacy & Security → Location Services.
Calendar access — access to the calendar can be revoked via the iOS settings under Privacy & Security → Calendars.
